flydubai is entering its next phase of growth with plans to take its fleet beyond 100 aircraft, alongside a new cabin retrofit programme designed to bring greater consistency and comfort to its Boeing 737 MAX fleet.

The Dubai-based airline will take delivery of 11 additional aircraft during 2026, comprising seven Boeing 737-9 MAX and four Boeing 737-8 MAX aircraft. The deliveries form part of its wider fleet modernisation strategy, replacing older aircraft while creating additional capacity for high-demand routes and future network expansion.

The new aircraft will also contribute to flydubai’s focus on maintaining a younger, more fuel-efficient fleet. The Boeing 737-9 MAX aircraft will feature 16 Business Class and 156 Economy Class seats, providing increased premium capacity on selected international routes.

Alongside the fleet expansion, flydubai is investing in its existing aircraft. From September, the airline will begin the next stage of a cabin retrofit programme, with 21 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft scheduled to receive upgrades over the next 12 months.

The most notable change will be the introduction of flydubai’s signature lie-flat Business Class seats, replacing the existing recliner seats on these aircraft. The cabins will also be fitted with Boeing’s larger Space Bins, increasing overhead storage capacity from four to up to six standard-sized bags per bin and helping to make boarding more straightforward.

The programme follows flydubai’s previous multimillion-dollar investment in refreshing its Next-Generation Boeing 737-800 fleet, which introduced new seating, lie-flat Business Class and inflight entertainment.

Together, the new aircraft and cabin upgrades mark a significant investment in flydubai’s onboard experience, as the airline continues to expand its network from Dubai and strengthen its position within the region’s rapidly evolving aviation landscape.
