Flexjet takes delivery of the Embraer Praetor 600E with its innovative Smart Window

Private aviation is becoming an increasingly sophisticated part of the journey, and Flexjet’s latest aircraft is taking that idea quite literally. The luxury private aviation company has taken delivery of the first Embraer Praetor 600E, introducing a new cabin experience centred around its fully operational Smart Window™.

The super-midsize jet is the first certified aircraft to feature the technology, which transforms a section of the cabin sidewall into a 42-inch 4K OLED touchscreen. Curved to follow the aircraft’s interior, the display can act as a virtual window, offering three high-definition, real-time views of the world outside - an intriguing proposition when cruising at altitude or travelling after dark.

It also turns the cabin into something of a private boardroom. The divan and two neighbouring seats are positioned around the Smart Window™, creating a comfortable setting for meetings and video calls without introducing a bulky television cabinet or credenza.

When work is done, the same space becomes an entertainment hub, with reclining seats, dimmed lighting and studio-grade audio creating an immersive setting for films and gaming. On overnight flights, lie-flat seats allow passengers to settle in while a panoramic view of the night sky remains on display.

The Praetor 600E is equipped with Starlink Wi-Fi, while additional touches include electrically assisted seating, a lie-flat configuration, an advanced cabin management system and voice-controlled lighting, climate and music. Expanded headroom above each seat adds to the sense of space, with an upper touchscreen providing controls and a live journey tracker.

The aircraft is part of Flexjet’s latest collaboration with Embraer, following a $7 billion agreement announced in 2025. As fleet launch customer for the Praetor 600E and 500E, Flexjet will begin introducing both models alongside its existing Embraer fleet.

For private aviation, the appeal is increasingly about what happens once the aircraft leaves the runway. With the Praetor 600E, Flexjet is putting the cabin firmly at the centre of the experience.
