JA Manafaru unveils its ‘Island of Celebrations’ festive programme in the Maldives
For those seeking a festive escape far removed from the winter chill, JA Manafaru has unveiled Island of Celebrations, a 19-day programme running from 21 December 2026 to 8 January 2027. Set on a private island in the Maldives’ northernmost atoll, the resort will welcome Christmas and New Year with beachfront dining, live entertainment and experiences for couples and families.

Christmas by the sea
Celebrations begin on 21 December with a Christmas tree lighting ceremony at The Cellar, the resort’s subterranean wine cellar. The following days bring a pool party at Andiamo, island activities and sunset aperitivo at Veli Bar.
On Christmas Eve, guests can discover a handcrafted gingerbread house at Kakuni before gathering for aperitivo on Best Dive Beach, a gala dinner and a bonfire beneath the stars. Live entertainment throughout the season will include music, dance, magic, acrobatics and fire performances.
Christmas Day brings a leisurely brunch at Kakuni, accompanied by live entertainment and a special appearance from Santa on the shore. Families can also enjoy sandcastle activities, creative workshops, treasure hunts and festive films at the island’s private cinema.
Welcoming 2027
New Year’s Eve begins with sunset aperitivo on Best Dive Beach, followed by a gala dinner at Kakuni and a beach party leading into the midnight countdown. Performers from UK-based AREA 51 will present a Gatsby-inspired programme of dance, magic and acrobatics to welcome 2027.
The celebrations continue into January, culminating in a further gala dinner and after-party on 6 January, before a final brunch on 8 January.
