This October, The Halcyon Maldives will mark Chinese Golden Week with a week-long programme bringing together exceptional dining, ocean adventures and experiences designed for the whole family.
Taking place from 1–7 October 2026 across the resort’s two private islands in Gaafu Alifu Atoll, the programme combines the natural beauty of the Maldives with culinary collaborations, Maldivian culture and thoughtful touches for Chinese-speaking guests, including Mandarin-speaking butler service and a specially curated Chinese menu.
A highlight will be a collaboration with Swiss chef Pascal Steffen of two-Michelin-starred Roots in Basel. Known for his vegetable-led approach and restrained, produce-focused cooking, Chef Pascal will host two intimate dinners, as well as a hands-on cooking class exploring his philosophy and techniques.
Cantonese cuisine will also take centre stage, with Chef Nico drawing on 16 years of experience to create dishes that combine traditional flavours with ingredients sourced from the surrounding Maldivian waters.
Beyond the table, guests can discover the resort’s marine environment through dolphin excursions, sunset fishing, diving and snorkelling. Its house reefs are home to more than 40 resident turtles, alongside manta rays, reef sharks and eagle rays.
For younger travellers, the Young Voyagers Club offers cooking, wellness, cultural activities, ocean exploration and stargazing, including dumpling making and traditional Boduberu drumming.
The week brings together some of the best of island life, from standout dining and ocean adventures to time spent exploring the Maldives with family.
